Welcome to Praxis

"Helping equip the church to be the church."

Praxis means action.

In the biblical book of Acts, the apostles are living out the mission of Jesus as the first century church spreads throughout the world. They put into "praxis" all that Jesus had commanded them to do through His authority given to them in Matthew 28:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.  And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Praxis is a new ministry under Canadian Revival Fellowship with the sole purpose of “Helping equip the church to be the church.”

Praxis is the process by which one acts, where a theory is enacted, practiced, embodied or realized.

Praxis is a para-church ministry.

In Canada we are blessed to live in one of the most desirable countries in the world. At a population nearing 36 million people, the vast majority of our country does not know Jesus. The need is great!! We have the greatest news the world has ever known and a mandate to spread that news with the world.

With the average church size at 75 people or less, we observe a greater need than ever to walk alongside existing churches to provide unique, theologically robust teaching and training on a vast number of topics that the local church faces today.

Pastors and church leaders are faithfully serving in their local church setting and often cannot find the margin to provide additional teaching and learning opportunities for those they serve. This is where Praxis comes in… we are a para-church ministry and “para” means to come “alongside”. By definition and design, Praxis seeks to come alongside churches to provide opportunities to equip the church in ways that individual churches cannot fulfill alone for a number of reasons like capacity, resources, or scale.

Canadian Revival Fellowship has a rich heritage and history of walking alongside the church by providing teaching and training to local bodies. Our vision for the ministry of Praxis is to help the local church in its disciple-making mandate.
